This week, Mrs. Wattles, Baby Blossom, and Darwin Duck went on an adventure to the Council on Aging (COA) to visit with Suzie while she hosted on of her amazing Living Library programs. So a big thank you to Lina at the Westwood COA and Suzie for letting us crash their event for some pictures!
Suzie taught the seniors in attendance how to make macramé plant hangers and a terrarium using air plants. And of course, we had to take some photos to showcase all the fun they were having! Doing two crafts in one hour was an amazing feat, so great job to everyone who was involved. Your designs look amazing!
The entire group did a great job and had a wonderful time! Suzie is such a patient teacher and she clearly enjoys herself just as much as the participants! Keep an eye on our events calendar and on the COA newsletter to see when Suzie's next program will be!
And then there's our usual troublemakers...
Darwin and Baby Blossom got so excited that they got stuck in their jars. Mrs. Wattles had to get everyone out safely and then had to carry around her air plant in her purse instead. However, we ended our afternoon adventure when Baby Blossom decided to relax inside one of our beach-themed terrariums! None of us had seen many air plants before since they don't naturally grow in most of Australia or Boston. So we all had a great time learning about how to take care of, design, and showcase our air plant hangers and terrariums. Overall, we give Suzie's program a 10 out of 10 for creativity, enthusiasm, and fun!
