Nancy Horan is an American author known for her historical fiction novels based on the lives of real historical figures. Born Nancy Ann King on May 1, 1953, in Washington, D.C., she grew up in Oak Park, Illinois. Horan earned a degree in English and journalism from Indiana University and later pursued graduate studies in English and creative writing at Southern Methodist University.
